Your main goal should be understanding the work culture of an organization to maximize the recruiting experience.
Different companies provide different work experience in the same industry. So, you should seek a company you can connect with. While going for an interview, you should be ready to have a conversation and tell them about yourself. Don’t stress out if you don’t get your dream summer internship. They are more competitive than a regular job.
Don’t just stick to your Classroom Activities
What happens outside the classroom is more important. In top B-Schools grades don’t matter that much. Learn in the classroom but don’t be so involved that you miss the opportunities outside the classroom. There are a lot of opportunities, so be selective.

Participating in Extracurriculars will help you with networking and will provide you with something to talk about in your interviews. All your classmates, juniors and seniors are a part of priceless network.

If you are paying a lot in tuition then you should be exploring new things. Go to diverse interviews and company presentations. Especially if you are doing an Executive MBA Take courses in unfamiliar subjects or interview with a company outside of your industry. You will be surprised how interests shift.
Failure is one of the best learning tools, so don’t be afraid to flop. It will allow you to evolve and know what not to do and what to do next time.
